This wine is as beautiful and fresh as the days are long and sunny.
The second vintage of Vermentino for us and we’re really getting to grips with this Mediterranean variety.
We planted Vermentino on a bit of a whim, we’d tasted some from Italy and France and loved the style.
If the vine is at home in Southern France and Italy why the heck not the Barossa?
But better than that Vermentino is showing that it completely digs our warm summers, it doesn’t need as much water as some other varieties and when the heatwave comes it just loves it!
Tastes great and is good for the environment; that’s got to be a winning combination.
Speaking of Winning it’s been kicking goals on the show circuit!

Tasting Note By Master Of Wine Phillip Reedman.
Vermentino, The White Knight, has been a part of the Atze’s range for several vintages now and the vines mature and Andy’s ideas about how he wants to make, and drink the wine develop we’re seeing a wine with a little more longevity and an extra degree of zest.
Vermentino hailing from the Mediterranean coasts of France and Italy, is well suited to the Barossa Valley where it soaks up the warm summer days and keeps its fresh acidity. Vinified quite simply and bottled young this wine is all about limey citrus and zesty, fresh tangy fruit. Dry and utterly refreshing this is the perfect wine to drink right through the spring and summer. Pair it with seafood or drink as an aperitif, its 12% alcohol is refreshingly low.
