Grenache-Mataro-Graciano
From the Spanish words meaning The Renegade, “El Renegado” is a totally unique combination of three Spanish varieties; the elegance of Grenache, the power and spice of Mataro and the aromatics and crispness of Graciano.
This is a fruit-driven number and a true expression of the Spanish varieties that thrive in the Barossa’s warm climate.
In 2009 we were looking for a vibrant fruit driven wine, after hours of tasting at the blending table we stumbled onto a this mix of varieties, a unique blend which stood out from the rest.
To further integrate these varieties in 2010 we Co-fermented the varieties in a single vat, the similarity in ripening time of these varieties offers this rare opportunity to do so.
